What we will learn:

In 586 BC, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon brought to completion the conquest he had begun nearly two decades earlier. His forces overran Judah, the southern kingdom of Israel, and laid waste to its capital, Jerusalem. The destruction was total: “He burned the house of the LORD, the royal palace, and every great house in Jerusalem. The Chaldean army tore down the city walls, and Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, carried the remaining people—those who had stayed behind and those who had surrendered—into exile” (2 Kings 25:9–11).

Imagine the anguish of those exiles—ripped from their homeland, stripped of their identity, and forced into a foreign culture that demanded their loyalty and labor. Fear, grief, and despair must have overwhelmed them. Surely, many cried out, “Why, God? Where are You?” In their devastation, they may have wondered if God had abandoned them altogether.

Yet God was present. In the midst of exile, He raised up a young man named Daniel. Through Daniel, He spoke comfort, gave guidance, and revealed His sovereign hand at work—even in Babylon. Against overwhelming pressure, Daniel remained faithful. God honored that faith by granting him visions of the future, reminding His people—and us—that His purposes stand unshaken.

Our world may look different, but the ache can feel the same. While we may not face literal exile, we know what it is to endure seasons of uncertainty, loss, compromise, or pressure to conform. We, too, may whisper, “Why, God?” and wonder if He is still near. Daniel’s story shouts an answer across the centuries: God has not forgotten you.

This study of the Book of Daniel will weave together history, prophecy, and practical faith. We’ll uncover its fulfilled prophecies, draw out its timeless truths, and apply its hope-filled message to everyday life. Together, we’ll learn what it means to stand firm, live with integrity, and trust in God’s unwavering sovereignty—no matter the culture around us.
